FAQ

How to pick the right product

What is the difference between permanent and semi-permanent hair colorants?

The difference between semi-permanent and permanent hair color is how long you want the color to last and how much of a change you want.

If you want a more dramatic change (two or more shades darker or lighter than your natural hair color), a permanent colorant is the way to go. It’s also the best choice for covering up gray hair.

If you want to subtly deepen your natural hair color or change its tone for a short period of time, a semi-permanent color is your best option. Semi-permanent colorants can only darken hair, not lighten it, because they don’t contain a bleaching agent. Though Semi-permanent color may not show as strongly as permanent color on black hair, if you don’t like the color, you don’t have to live with it for too long.

Permanent hair colorants remove pigment from hair (through a bleaching agent), while also depositing new color. The resulting hair color won’t wash out and instead has to grow out. You might have an allergic reaction though, so you should conduct a patch test before you dye your hair.

What is the difference between hair color products for men and the products for women? Is it okay for me to use products meant for the opposite sex?

If the tones are appropriate for you and you are comfortable with using them, then there is no foreseeable issue.

There are no differences in chemical make-up between the two. However, the tones and textures of the products were made for the appropriate gender.

Also, as men generally have short hair, the comb or brush for the application of the dye is suitable for this shortness in length.

Does quick-acting hair color have any adverse effect on the hair?

No.

Quick-action hair color decreases the time for hair coloring by increasing hair strands’ permeability through a combination of a suitable base and dye. As it is not done through an increase in stimulus to the hair, there are no adverse effects on the hair, when compared with traditional means of dyeing.
